Limescale on glasses

A dishwasher is extremely handy and ensures clean dishes without too much hassle. But that white haze on your glasses cannot be otherwise? Yes, of course! Limescale is an annoying bummer that turns your dishwasher into an unreliable household helper. The internet is full of tips for removing limescale from your glasses. However, this is only more work for glasses that are already clean! It is therefore important to prevent limescale deposits, but how do you do that?

Dishwasher salt

Salt in the dishwasher ensures that no white haze remains on glasses. Salt is a substance that removes limescale from the rinse water. You cannot use regular table salt for this, but must purchase special regeneration salt for dishwashers that must be dosed into a special reservoir. This reservoir is usually located at the very bottom of the machine. You should also check regularly whether the salt needs to be refilled. Water filters from the more expensive segment also use salt to extract limescale from the water. However, in doing so they also remove important minerals from the water.

All-in-one dishwasher tablets

With dishwasher tablets that contain both rinse aid and salt, it is not necessary to add these agents separately to the dishwasher. These tablets are not cheap, but they do provide limescale-free glasses.
