What is a water softener magnet?
A magnetic water softener is a device used to treat hard water. Hard water is water that contains high concentrations of calcium and magnesium, which can lead to limescale deposits on household appliances, pipes and plumbing.
How does a water softener magnet work?
A water softener magnet works by using magnetic fields to soften the calcium and magnesium ions in the water. This is done by causing the ions to split off from their crystals, preventing them from adhering to surfaces and pipes. The ions remain present in the water, but they are no longer able to form limescale.
